Statement to the CCW annual meeting, 22-24 November

This statement was delivered to delegates at the CCW annual meeting on lethal autonomous weapons on 23 November 2017. The statement expresses concern about the lack of a strong mandate and time dedicated to discussing the urgent threat of autonomous weapons. It requests the next year’s GGE meetings focus action and in-depth discussions between states to foster common understandings and agreement on key elements.
