Privacy Policy

(Last updated: 24 May 2018)

The Campaign to Stop Killer Robots is committed to protecting personal information and respecting privacy.

Collection and Use of Personal Data

We are doing our best to protect your privacy by using security technology appropriately. Any personal data that you give us will be treated with the utmost care and security. Should you request that we amend or suppress records containing your personal data, we will endeavor to do so as promptly as practical.

The Campaign to Stop Killer Robots does not distribute, sell or rent personal details captured through the website to anyone. As a general rule, the campaign does not disclose any information identifying you personally, except with your permission or where required by law.

Use of Cookies

This website uses cookies – small text files that are transferred either to your computer’s hard drive (‘long-term cookies’) or temporarily to your computer’s Random Access Memory (‘session cookies’).

We have recently disabled the share bar on our current site, which has significantly cut the social network cookies and trackers employed. We use cookies for the following purposes: 1) to monitor the site’s traffic (Google Analytics) and to monitor the site’s performance (New Relic). We understand that both Google Analytics and New Relic are implementing GDPR compliant data retention policies.

It is usually possible to stop your browser accepting cookies, or to stop it accepting cookies from a particular website. All modern browsers allow you to change your cookie settings. You can usually find these settings in the Options or Preferences menu of your browser.

The current Campaign to Stop Killer Robots website is operated by Human Rights Watch and Mines Action Canada. It is hosted in the United States. The campaign is in the process of creating a new website to replace this one. The new site should be ready by September and the developer in London is working to ensure it complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
