This article argues that “maintaining meaningful human control over the use of weapons systems and life-and-death decision-making in warfare is a worthy and sensible goal for legal, ethical and strategic reasons."

Autonomous weapon systems are prone to proliferation, and are likely to lead to increased crisis instability and escalation risks.
