Statement to the 69th UN General Assembly First Committee on Disarmament and International Security

This statement was delivered to delegates attending the 69th UN General Assembly (UNGA) First Committee on Disarmament and International Security. The statement highlights the issue of “killer robots” should be considered in other multilateral fora, including the Human Rights Council, and reiterates the achievability of a pre-emptive ban, as evidenced by previous work on the CCW Protocol IV on blinding lasers.
