Call for applications: Autonomous Weapons Youth Delegate Programme

Stop Killer Robots is now inviting applications to the Autonomous Weapons Youth Delegate Programme for emerging experts aged 30 and under to participate in key multilateral meetings on autonomous weapons systems in Geneva in September and November 2026.

The Autonomous Weapons Youth Delegate Programme is made possible by the generous support of the Government of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.  

The Autonomous Weapons Youth Delegate Programme will support four young people (students, recent graduates, practitioners, researchers, or other junior professionals aged 30 and under) from underrepresented regions* to develop practical skills in the field of disarmament and emerging technologies through the participation in key multilateral meetings on autonomous weapons systems in Geneva in 2026, in particular, either the Group of Governmental Experts (GGE) on Lethal Autonomous Weapons Systems (LAWS) in September (31 August–4 September) or the Seventh Review Conference of the Convention on Certain Conventional Weapons (CCW) in November (16–20 November) (*Africa, Asia and the Pacific, Latin America and the Caribbean, and the Middle East and North Africa). Prior to participating in the conferences in Geneva, Youth Delegates will deepen their understanding of disarmament, arms control, and autonomous weapons systems through online lectures and briefings, training workshops on international disarmament processes, and capacity-building sessions to develop leadership and professional skills. Costs related to Youth Delegates’ travel, accommodation, and a daily stipend in Geneva will be covered by the programme.
