The 8th edition of the Antimilitarist and Historical Memory Conference will present the theme “Towards the prohibition of autonomous weapons: is a world without wars possible?” with the Spanish Campaign to Stop Killer Robots. The event, organized by Gernika Gogoratuz , Ingeniería Sin Fronteras de Euskadi ISF-Euskadi , Gernikatik Mundura , Ideasur and the Spanish Campaign, will take place virtually on 18-19 November 2020.
The programme will feature Roser Martínez and Joaquín Rodríguez awarded for their research, publications and contribution to the fight for the prohibition of lethal autonomous weapons (LAWS). It will present Tica Font from the Center Délas per la Pau , an institution that works on the arms trade, the financing of the arms industry, and Research and Development (R&D) of arms and military operations abroad, among other topics. The program will finish with Rodrigo Méndez, diplomat from Colombia, Joseba Sanz from the platform War starts here / Ongi Etorri Errefuxiatuak, and Iban Zaldua, writer and author of the story “A Visit to the Armory Museum”.
